A re-elected Malinauskas Labor Government will invest in a suite of ambitious reforms focused on giving teachers more tools and resources to be their best– building on our work over the past four years.

The Malinauskas Labor Government is driven by the ambition to give every child the best public education and we are proud of the progress made so far.

We have removed mobile phones from high school classrooms, strengthened literacy and numeracy, employed 100 dedicated mental health and learning specialists, increased permanency for teachers and leaders, and delivered a fair pay rise. We are also rolling out a new South Australian curriculum with a stronger focus on essential knowledge and skills, including civics and financial literacy.

Teachers and support staff are central to improving student outcomes. That is why a re-elected Malinauskas Labor Government will invest in a new suite of ambitious reforms focused on giving teachers the tools and resources they need to be at their best, building on the strong foundations laid over the past four years.

Labor's next phase of reforms will ensure every young person leaves school ready to maximise the opportunities available right here in South Australia.

Labor’s Plan to Invest in Better Quality Education includes:
  • Reducing screen time for students
  • Establishing a second phonics check in year two
  • Creating a pipeline of STEM Specialist Teachers
  • Delivering a new hands-on pathway for teachers to earn while they learn
  • More professional learning for teachers
  • Ensuring a fairer, safer and healthier workplace
  • Public education for public good
