A re-elected Malinauskas Labor Government will invest more than $500 million in preschool and school infrastructure, upgrading and replacing facilities across South Australia.

A strong focus on school infrastructure will ensure our young people have access to the best facilities for a great education, no matter where they live. This supports our ambition to make every school a great school. That is why a re-elected Malinauskas Labor Government will double down on our efforts to give every child the best education and set them up for a great life, continuing Labor’s long-standing commitment to public school infrastructure targeted to the areas where it is needed most.

If re-elected, a new $210 million funding injection will upgrade classrooms and buildings over the next four years. As part of this commitment, $10 million will be dedicated to strengthening inclusive environments in schools by reducing sensory barriers and improving participation, regulation and wellbeing for autistic learners. This investment will support upgrades to learning, regulation and play spaces in 20 schools, creating safer, calmer and more predictable environments that enable students to thrive.

The Malinauskas Labor Government will also invest $68 million in existing funding for other major school upgrades. In addition, $229 million in existing funding has been set aside to upgrade facilities to support three year-old preschool.

Alongside our investment in improving public school facilities, our education policy includes a suite of ambitious reforms, building on the work delivered over the past four years.

This policy includes:
