A re-elected Labor Government will deliver a significant upgrade to the Heathfield High School Oval, transforming it into a high-quality community sports and recreation hub for the Adelaide Hills.

This $1.45 million investment will bring the oval up to a standard suitable for community sporting clubs to train and participate safely, while supporting the growing demand for sporting facilities in the region.

These upgrades will transform an under-utilised school facility into a shared sporting asset that will unlock the oval for broader community use.

Heathfield High School Oval will evolve into a well-used community sports ground that is flexible and will be suitable for football, cricket, soccer, as well as a range of other community and sports.

Local sporting groups will gain a reliable home for training, helping them attract new players, and support community participation in sport.

The project will fund essential improvements including:
  • $450,000 to remediate and modernise oval drainage, for year-round usability and improved playing conditions.
  • $675,000 to install new, energy-efficient sports lighting, which would allow for evening training.
  • $325,000 for the remediation of retaining walls and stairs, improving safety and accessibility.
