Murray Bridge has long played a significant role in our State and today it is essential to our economic, social, and environmental future. With the population expected to more than double by 2051, it is critical that the community has the services and infrastructure it needs now and into the future.
Driven by major new housing developments and growth across agriculture, agri-business, logistics, and tourism, Murray Bridge is entering a period of sustained expansion. Investment in new infrastructure will be essential to ensure the region has the capacity to meet both current demand and future needs.
The Malinauskas Labor Government has recently adopted the Murray Bridge Residential Growth Areas Code Amendment, rezoning rural and underutilised land west of Murray Bridge to enable low to medium density housing in one of the state’s fastest growing areas, paving the way for up to 900 new homes and expanding local housing options.
A re-elected Malinauskas Labor Government has a comprehensive plan for Murray Bridge, with more than $100 million in investments across public transport, health, skills, and crime prevention, including cheaper, better public transport and major health and social infrastructure upgrades.
