It's not time to slow down. It's time to build on our state's momentum.
Right now, our state has momentum. We’ve built the country’s strongest economy. More South Australians have jobs than ever before. But it’s more than numbers. You can feel the energy. We’re being noticed. And now, together, we have the opportunity to turn this momentum into lasting progress, and a better future for all South Australians.

One of the best things about our state, is the way people look out for one another.
South Australia is heading into a period of very hot weather, and with it comes elevated fire danger across many parts of the state.
Today I received a detailed briefing from the SA Country Fire Service (CFS) on the extensive preparations already in place should a fire occur. This includes a Firescan 200 aircraft deployed from New South Wales and a LAT Bomber 140 aircraft from Western Australia, both now on standby to respond to any large scale fires after arriving this afternoon.
South Australia Police will also be out in force under Operation Nomad, proactively identifying and targeting behaviours and individuals that pose a risk of starting bushfires.
Our firefighters, volunteers and emergency services are well prepared, but we all have a role to play.
Please take the time to look out for vulnerable family members, friends and neighbours, especially older people, those with health conditions, and anyone who may need extra support during extreme heat.
If you live in, or near a bushfire-prone area, now is the time to check and update your bushfire survival plan, make sure your property is prepared, and stay informed by monitoring official warnings and advice.
A few simple steps can make a big difference.
Let's look after one another and stay safe during the hot weather.
