Seniors are central to society and our economy, and it’s important we support them to meet the cost of living.
Around 500,000 South Australians are aged 60+, with 420,000 of these currently Seniors Card members.
A re-elected Malinauskas Labor Government will expand eligibility for the Seniors Card to assist an estimated 80,000 additional older South Australians with the cost of living.
Labor's $8 million commitment over four years will enable the Seniors Card scheme to be expanded to all South Australians over the age of 60, regardless of how many hours they work.
The card will also be made available to Aboriginal South Australians aged 50 or older.
The expanded eligibility will mean all will be able to access free 24/7 Adelaide Metro public transport.
Seniors Card holders can also access a range of other discounts and deals to help with the cost of living, including on heating and cooling systems, home maintenance, pharmacies and more, providing important cost-of-living relief and the opportunity to stay connected and engaged with the community.
