A re-elected Malinauskas Labor Government commits to delivering a stronger South Australian Ambulance Service (SAAS) in four key regional areas.

Labor believes in a strong ambulance service, and over the past four years we have invested hundreds of millions of dollars to make it bigger and stronger than ever before, boosting the resourcing of the SA Ambulance Service as we endeavour to make it one of the best in the country.

The Malinauskas Labor Government has delivered an unprecedented level of permanent operational funding, including the largest ever suite of initiatives to support available, high quality regional ambulance resourcing.

However, much of regional South Australia continues to be supported by an incredibly qualified volunteer workforce, juggling their busy lives with the training and rosters required of an on-call ambulance crew.

That is why a re-elected Malinauskas Labor Government plans to employ more ambos on our regional roads and invest in regional ambulance infrastructure. We will deliver a new ambulance station in Millicent, upgrade ambulance stations in the Riverland and the southern Yorke Peninsula, and ensure the community paramedic service continues in Ceduna.

The southern Yorke Peninsula will also receive a new 12 paramedic crew, adding to the 151 additional ambos recruited across South Australia’s regions since Labor came to office.

Labor's Plan will:
  • Establish the role of Chief Paramedic Officer
  • Recruit a new emergency crew and redevelop the Yorketown Ambulance Station
  • Build a new ambulance station in Millicent
  • Permanent operational funding for Two Community Paramedics in Ceduna
  • Redevelop the Barmera Ambulance Station
  • Permanent operational funding for an additional Regional Medical Transfer Crew for Murray Bridge
