Phoebe Redington

Phoebe was born on the Eyre Peninsula and spent most of her younger years on the Fleurieu Peninsula. After school and on weekends, she often visited many local beaches, deepening her appreciation for the area. Growing up in these regions fostered a strong sense of community for Phoebe, where everyone looks out for one another and goes above and beyond to help.

Phoebe’s mum was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) just before she was born, which impacted her family. As Phoebe grew older, she watched her mum navigate the healthcare system and fight for access to the care and resources she needed. Along with her grandmother's stay in palliative care during her final moments, these experiences opened Phoebe’s eyes to the importance of a well-funded and equitable public healthcare system.

Phoebe’s parents and close family friends have all been educators. Witnessing their dedication to shaping the next generation, she feels proud to advocate for the essential resources and funding for our public schools.

Performing arts has been a profound source of joy and community for Phoebe. As a former dancer at a local dance school in Port Elliott, she discovered early on the physical, mental, and emotional benefits that come from this art form. Phoebe takes pride in being a member of the Onkaparinga City Council Band, where she has experienced the power of music to unite people of all ages, forge connections, and create a shared sense of purpose.

Since entering the workforce, Phoebe has been dedicated to supporting South Australians and their communities through her role in State Government.
