Hon. Kyam Maher

Kyam Maher is South Australia’s Aboriginal Attorney‑General and Leader of Government Business in the Legislative Council, roles he has held since March 2022. A lawyer by training and former Crown Solicitor, he is passionate about dignity, justice and opportunity for all, especially Aboriginal communities. As Minister, Kyam has led treaty negotiations, launched reparations for the Stolen Generations, and continues to pursue a future of cultural pride and equity. Born in Littlehampton and raised in Mt Gambier, he holds Law and Economics degrees from the University of Adelaide.
