Ben Anchor

Ben was born at Port Lincoln Hospital and began his education at Port Lincoln Junior Primary School. He maintains strong ties to his hometown and returns regularly.

Growing up in regional South Australia gave Ben insight into the challenges young people face when opportunities are limited because they are outside major cities. He understands the pressures placed on families and young people when pathways for education, training, and employment are harder to access in country communities. Ben is passionate about changing this and believes every young person deserves the chance to build a future without being forced to leave their community.

Ben is highly engaged in the running community. He serves on the governing body of ultra running in Australia (AUTRA) as Treasurer and is a former committee member of Trail Running SA. Through these roles, he has demonstrated leadership and a dedication to grassroots sport.

Proud of his regional roots, Ben will always stand up for working people and fight for a fairer future for Flinders. He is committed to ensuring regional communities receive the opportunities, investment, and support they deserve.
