Matthew Key
Matthew Key is a proud Limestone Coast local and a passionate advocate for education and regional communities. With over a decade of experience in South Australian schools, Matthew currently serves a leader in a local school, guiding students right through their schooling years. His career has been dedicated to ensuring every child has access to quality education, regardless of where they live.
Also teaching for a period in Coober Pedy, Matthew quickly developed a deep understanding of the unique challenges faced by regional families. His leadership roles have focused on student wellbeing, inclusion, and creating positive learning environments. Matthew’s commitment to education extends beyond the classroom—he has been an active member of the Australian Education Union for many years, championing fairness and resources for teachers and students, as well as a leader.
Matthew believes that investing in our kids’ future through education is the cornerstone of strong communities. He knows firsthand that when schools thrive, so do families and local economies. That’s why he is determined to fight for better funding, improved facilities, and more opportunities for young people in Mount Gambier and across the Limestone Coast.
As a Labor candidate, Matthew shares the values of a government that stands up for regional working people. He understands that Labor’s focus on fairness, jobs, and essential services is critical for communities like ours. Matthew is ready to bring his experience, energy, and vision to Parliament to ensure Mount Gambier has a strong voice advocating for education, health, and regional development.
