Lawrence Ben

Lawrence Ben is an experienced community advocate with a strong record of delivering results.

As a lawyer, Lawrence represented injured workers, small businesses and contractors as well as those exploited at work.

He has dedicated his career campaigning for and winning better conditions for working families, including improved paid sick leave, better child care services, and stronger work health and safety protections.

As the Economic Adviser to Premier Peter Malinauskas, Lawrence played a key role in the Government’s intervention at the Whyalla steelworks as well as policies to address cost of living pressures and the housing crisis.

As the son of two teachers, he believes in the power of education and the fundamental role it plays in providing more opportunities for future generations.

Lawrence passionately believes in improving the lives of working South Australians and standing up for his community. He regularly volunteers with Westside Community Lawyers and assisting with the settlement of displaced persons from Ukraine.
