- Candidate for Port Adelaide
Cheyne Rich
Cheyne has spent his career fighting for the rights of working people, being an effective advocate within the community and Government.
His mother migrated with her family from Italy in search of opportunity. His grandfather took great pride in his work as a porter at the RAH, keeping his staff badge in pride of place by the front door as a reminder of a job that helped him build a stable life for his family.
Cheyne grew up in a working-class family. His dad, a truckie, worked long hours to provide for the family, while his mother left the workforce to care for the family. Their dedication instilled in Cheyne a deep respect for the dignity of work, and commitment to fairness.
From a young age he has seen how tough it could be for working families to make ends meet and how critical it is to stand up for people’s rights.
That’s why he is putting his hand up at the upcoming State Election for Electorate Port Adelaide. Raising his two children Lily and Henry in Taperoo with his wife Ann-Marie, Cheyne is passionate about all the Port community has to offer.
