Biography
Prior to entering parliament Michael was a small/medium business operator. He has also worked as a national manager for major Australian corporation Elders IXL and has held senior executive positions in major South Australian organisations such as RAA and Adelaide University. Michael holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Adelaide. Michael has been a member of numerous parliamentary committees and is currently Parliamentary Secretary to the Premier. Michael and his wife Jane have two teenage children.
Electorate Profile - Napier
Sir Thomas John Mellis Napier (1882-1976) was for 43 years a Supreme Court Judge including 25 years as Chief Justice. He was appointed Lieutenant-Governor (1942-1973) and Chancellor of the University of Adelaide (1948-1961). Area:approx. 85.8km2 Location: The district, to the north-east of the Adelaide area some 25 km from the CBD. It incorporates suburbs to the north and north east of the City of Elizabeth and extends east into the foothills. History: Created at the 1976 redistribution. The district boundaries were unchanged at the 2003 redistribution.
