Tom is married with three children and has a degree in Environmental Management.

He has worked as a jackeroo, storeman, a service station attendant, rouseabout, porter and dishwasher.

Tom’s interests include home brewing beer, skiing and playing rugby union.

Electorate Profile - Newland

Simpson Newland (1835-1925) belonged to a pioneer family and wrote the well-known book 'Paving the Way'. He was a prominent advocate of moves to build locks on the River Murray and construct a north-south railway, later becaming a political and civic leader..

Location: Approximately 15 km north-east of the Adelaide area, incorporating Tea Tree Gully, and adjoining foothills suburbs of the Mount Lofty Ranges.

History: Created at the 1976 redistribution.
