Biography
John and his wife have lived in the electorate for 14 years and have 2 adult sons. John originally trained as a high school teacher and has also completed a law degree. He has been the Member for Kaurna since 1997.
Electorate Profile - Kaurna
This district is named after, and a commemoration of, the local Kaurna Aboriginal people who occupied the Adelaide Plains until the end of the 19th century. The mobile groups making up the Kaurna people had a well-developed pattern of guardianship of the land. Area:approx. 67.1km2 Location: The district of Kaurna is a coastal seat south-west of Adelaide and takes in some of the more southerly beach suburbs of the outer metropolitan area. No changes were made to the boundaries at the 2003 redistribution. History: The district was created at the 1991 redistribution
