Established in 1891, Labor has a proud history of achievement for the people of Australia. Today the Party plays an important role in providing greater opportunity and a fair go for all Australians.

The Australian Labor Party aims to improve the lives and protect the rights and conditions of working people.

SA Labor believes in:

  • A strong economy – we delivered South Australians a triple-A credit rating and 50,000 more jobs.
  • Rebuilding our public hospitals – 1349 extra nurses and 349 extra doctors.
  • Quality education – over $2000 extra per student, more teachers and smaller class sizes for Reception,Year 1 and Year 2.
  • A safer community – more police on the street.
  • A sustainable environment – stepped up South Australia’s commitment to protecting and conserving our precious natural heritage.
  • Fostering creativity – innovation in sectors ranging from manufacturing to the Arts.
